Otto is Tywin just less ruthless

Viserys was a good man, but I don't get the excessive love for his character. He was a horribly weak king who ignored the stability of the kingdoms, set up his children for a violent war, and destroyed the great realm he inherited from Jahaerys. Also he was a terrible father. Otto was always a great character but over-hated. And now, suddenly, black fans like Otto just because he praised Viserys and insulted Aegon lol

Erryck killing himself was absolutely heart breaking

I feel like Otto is quickly becoming the Tywin of this series. Maybe not as intelligent as Tywin but he clearly is a stern nobleman who puts politics and family prestige first at the expense of his relatives' personal wellbeing. He's always about playing the long game as a noble but doesn't always know how to comfort like a parental figure should and he passes that trauma onto his daughter who can barely comfort her own children when they need it. Let's not forget it was also Otto's idea to put Alicent in the good grace of king Viserys so she could become queen. He also has to deal with his aggressive and inexperienced grandson who technically outranks him but whom he still tries to guide. Also, Otto's lecture to Aegon which ended with Otto losing his position as Hand of the King, brilliant scene, all the actor killed it with their tones, expressions and body language!

Best episode of HotD so far, props to you for acknowledging how Rhaenera wouldn't let her son go scout, but was fine letting her sons betrothed go scout. You're the only person/channel I've heard so far that either acknowledged or mentioned that

Otto and the other Hightowers really hold Oldtown together. Sam's first view of it on screen untouched by the war, with the music sticks with me. Only for those troublesome reavers to probably burn it

Otto is going to Highgarden not Oldtown, which is why we probably won't see Daeron until season 3.

SPOILER Rhaenys will be dead before Addam and Alyn attempt to claim dragons. So I don't she'll have to confront the Hulls. Further, the boys have been aged up. No one would believe they are Laenor's sons.

Most of Westeros may have been ravaged, but the North, Vale, Dorne, and arguably Stormlands got off relatively scot free. Sure some lords of the regions got killed, but the territories weren't raided, burned, or destroyed like in the Westerlands, Riverlands, and Reach.
